Drug Awareness Program
It's that time of year when our Lodge visits the area schools to initiate participation in the Durg Awareness Essay & Poster Contest. Students in the 3rd., 4th., and 5th. grade will create posters with the theme "DRUG FREE THAT"S ME" and students in the 6th., 7th., and 8th. grade will write an essay up to 200 words on the same theme to be judged by our Lodge. Three contestants from each grade level will be chosen and sent to the District Level. They in turn, will send one contestant to the State Level. There is only lucky winner from each level that will be invited to attend the Elks Spring Convention next May to receive their prize. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact any Lodge Officer. Help us educate children on the dangers of illegal drugs!!!!Organ & Tissue Donation Program
The Grand Lodge, Lodge Activities/State Associations Committee, is asking Elk Lodges nationwide to promote the Organ Donor Program in their Lodge Bulletins and Lodge Web sites to help inspire members and citizens in their communities to make these life-saving donations.
Our Lodge alone has two Members who are alive because of Organ Transplantation. Mark your Licenses, talk to your family so they know your wishes. If you are incapacitated, they have the final say.
The Elks National Home
The Elks National Home was first established in 1903 and has since undergone many renovations. Today, there continues to be a need to renovate and upgrade. The only financial support the Elks National Home receives is a $1.00 annual Elks membership assessment and voluntary gifts from lodges, members, and friends. Therefore, your donations are very much appreciated and needed
